applying for registration must be the offspring of a registered
Georgian Grande
sire and dam OR;
In order to register a
Stallion or Mare as Georgian Grande foundation breeding stock,
the bloodlines must be a blend of the American Saddlebred
with Friesian, Clydesdale, Shire, Percheron, Belgian, Irish Draught
or other recognized Draft breed. Proof of pedigree required.
Registered Drum Horses and Gypsy
Vanners ("aka" Gypsy horses") are acceptable
provided they are registered within their own breed. Proof of
pedigree required.
Spotted Draft horses must be registered within their breed and must
have documented pedigree of registered Friesian, Percheron, Clydesdale,
Shire, Belgian or other recognized
Draft breed. Proof of pedigree required. Unknown background will not
be accepted.
PROOF OF PEDIGREE; A THREE GENERATION PEDIGREE AND A COPY OF THE
REGISTRATION PAPERS FOR BOTH THE SIRE AND THE DAM MUST BE SUBMITTED
WITH THE APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION. UNKNOWN BACKGROUND WILL
NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The percentage of American Saddlebred can be up to 75% but never
less than 25%.
The registration application form must be filled out entirely, no
spaces are to be left blank.
Signatures of owners of both the sire and the dam at time of
breeding required.
All dates of breeding must be clearly listed, stating AI, Pasture
exposed or hand bred.
The breeder of the horse is the person owning the dam at the time of
breeding.
PHOTOGRAPHS
All applications MUST BE accompanied by AT LEAST FOUR (4) CURRENT
color photographs showing all markings (photos must be no smaller
than 3 x 3 with the horse’s image being 80% of the picture) . Photos
shall be one from each side, one from the rear and one from the
front with forelock pulled completely aside so the entire flat of
the face is clearly visible.
The fee for registration is $50.00 for members
$100 for non-members (includes current year membership)
If the horse is to be transfered to a new owner at time of
registration seller must fill out a transfer
of ownership form, sign, and send with the application to register.
Transfer of ownership fee is $50
and must be included with the registration.
When transferring a horse previously registered with IGGHR, four
recent photos must be
included with the transfer of ownership form. The original
certificate must be returned to
IGGHR for notation by the Registry of new owner on the back.
Transfer of ownership fee is $50 for members; $100 for non member
(includes membership).
When a horse is gelded the owner must submit the papers to IGGHR to
be so noted.
Correcting the sex from stallion to gelding is free, no charge.
